Anita Asante

With 71 international caps to her name over a 19-year career, Anita was a formidable defender for England, winning league titles in England, the USA, and Sweden. She made her international debut against Iceland in 2004 and went on to compete in five major tournaments, as well as the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Anita began her career at Arsenal, where she was part of the women’s team that made history by winning the quadruple in 2007, including the Champions League – a feat no English team, men's or women's, has matched since.

After playing in the USA and Sweden, Anita returned to England in 2018, joining Chelsea and later Aston Villa. She retired in 2022 with an impressive honours list, including a UEFA Women's Cup, five league titles, four FA Cups, and two League Cups. Her remarkable career was recognised with her induction into the WSL Hall of Fame in 2023.

Since retiring, Anita has become a prominent pundit for the BBC and ITV. She also uses her platform to promote diversity in sport, serving as an Ambassador for Show Racism the Red Card and Amnesty International. She is a fantastic motivational keynote speaker.
