Caroline Rush CBE is a Chief Executive, known for developing businesses with talent at their core, international networks and being a master in change management. She left the British Fashion Council (BFC) end May 2025, following a 16 year tenure, during which she focused on strengthening the BFC’s network and platforms to connect businesses with global audiences both trade and consumer. During this time London Fashion Week has become a globally recognised platform for creative fashion talent and the BFC’s support programmes a blueprint for supporting creative talent copied by other fashion councils around the world. The Fashion Awards has become the global awards for the fashion industry and has raised £ms for the BFC’s charitable projects. This year is the 5 year anniversary of The Institute of Positive Fashion which Caroline launched as an engine room for change, galvanising the industry to address how it can more positively impact the Environment, People and embrace Circularity.
Caroline is an advocate for Creative Industries eco-systems, completed her tenure as Chair of the Creative Industries Trade and Investment Board end May this year, an appointment by the Department of Business and Trade; and has held a position on the Creative Industries Council, the Creative Industries Sector Vision Task Force, the Private Sector Council and Advisory Board for Creative UK – she is also an Advisory Board member of the European Fashion Alliance.
She has been widely credited for putting UK fashion on the global map, and she was awarded a CBE for her services to the industry in 2015. In 2017 she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of the Arts London. Caroline is an Honorary Professor at Glasgow Caledonian University and regularly appears on the various ‘power lists’ including the Business of Fashion.
