Christine McGuinness is an author, documentary maker, business owner, and a beloved advocate for the National Autistic Society. Her dedication to advancing neurodiversity in public discourse has resonated with many, highlighting her commitment to the cause. Christine’s active role within the community has been widely recognised; she has addressed Parliament, spoken on expert panels, and provided insights on neurodiversity to numerous corporations.
Her debut book, the bestseller A Beautiful Nightmare (Mirror Books), was published in 2021, coinciding with the release of her groundbreaking documentary Our Family and Autism on BBC One the same year.
In March 2023, her new documentary, Christine McGuinness: Unmasking My Autism, aired on BBC One, where she explored the challenges of undiagnosed autism in women and girls, shedding light on this often-overlooked issue.
Christine also launched her own business, H-E-R, in 2023, focusing on sensory-positive clothing designed with the needs of autistic individuals in mind. The brand has since expanded to include swimwear, loungewear, and activewear.
