Joanna is an actress, presenter, author and political campaigner with a long and distinguished screen career but possibly best known for playing Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous
Her notable film appearances include ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE, two PINK PANTHER films, THE WOLF OF WALL STREET and FALLING FOR FIGARO. Joanna is known globally for her portrayal of Patsy Stone in the BBC sitcom ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS, for which she won two BAFTAS. Other more recent television appearances include FINDING ALICE and MOTHERLAND.
Joanna is an advocate and human rights activist for Survival International and the Gurkha Justice Campaign. She supports charities and animal welfare groups, such as Compassion in World Farming and Vegetarians' International Voice for Animals.
Joanna was made a Dame (DBE) in the 2022 New Year Honours for services to drama, entertainment and charity.
