Originally from Bolton, Lancashire, Diane Morgan is a trained actress and writer/performer.
Probably best known for playing Philomena Cunk in Charlie Brooker‘s Weekly Wipe and the End of Year Review (Philomena memorably channelled Professor Brian Cox in her own popular Moments of Wonder segment of the show).
Diane began doing stand-up in 2005 and in 2006 was runner up in two national stand-up competitions (The Hackney Empire competition and The Funny Women Awards).
She is a graduate of East 15 Acting School and has featured in countless TV shows, theatre productions. She regularly presents on BBC4extra.
Other recent television credits include playing Tess in Utopia series 2 and Annabel in The Mimic series, 2 both for Channel 4. She played Nicola in ITV1‘s Cabbage & Pat and Gina in Him & Her on BBC3.
Diane started in stand-up in 2004, enjoying a successful solo career and she now fronts one half of sketch group Two Episodes of Mash with her performing partner Joe Wilkinson. Between them they have created two successful series for BBC Radio 4 and a 3rd series is planned. Diane also recently played guest roles in Tim Key's Late Night Poetry for BBC Radio 4.
