Faryl Smith is a soprano whose performance repertoire includes opera, classical and classical crossover. Her diverse concerts draw a wide range of audiences, and she particularly enjoys introducing new audiences to classical music. Faryl has released two albums with Decca Records both in the UK and the US. Her first album became the fastest-selling classical debut album in chart history. She also become the only classical star to receive a Gold Disc with their debut album within the first week of release. She started her career on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and her success at a very young age created many exciting opportunities to perform both nationally and internationally.

Faryl had the honour of performing for HRH Queen Elizabeth II several times during her career at the Epsom Derby, the Festival of Remembrance and The Royal Variety Performance. She had the honour of singing in front of HRH Prince Edward the Duke of Edinburgh, at the Duke of Edinburgh Cup prize giving dinner and the Prince’s Trust Butterfly Ball, both at Windsor Castle and recently performed at Rochester Cathedral for HRH Sophie the Duchess of Edinburgh

She was privileged to perform with Jose Carreras at Hampton Court Palace and has also shared a stage with Placido Domingo, Jonas Kaufmann and Angela Gheorghiu performing at the Classical Brit Awards. She was nominated for a Classical Brit Award in both categories for Best Album and Young Performer, the youngest ever performer to be nominated for two classical awards. 

 Faryl was also awarded a Silver Clef Nordoff Robbins Classical award and was featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Her achievements encouraged many young people to appreciate classical music and she was then invited to the Royal Academy of Music by Gareth Malone to help inspire children to learn more about classical music, which was aired on BBC 2.

Faryl regularly performs the National Anthem at many different sporting events at Twickenham, Wimbledon and Wembley. She has performed several times at the FA Cup Final in front of an estimated 8 million viewers and also the Six Nations Rugby games. Faryl was honoured to be the first National Anthem singer invited back to perform at Wembley Stadium since the coronavirus pandemic ahead of the EFL Sky Bet Play off Finals and was also recently featured on Disney+ Welcome to Wrexham.

Faryl has had the privilege of singing at The Royal Albert Hall several times and regularly performs in theatres around the country. She toured theatres with The International Harp Ensemble and corporate events have also enabled Faryl to work internationally. She was invited to Brussels to sing for the European Associations Awards, performed at the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Guilia in Rome and has performed several times in Dubai at the Global Retail Awards and at The Dubai Opera House.

Faryl has covered several roles at The Glyndebourne Opera House including Giannetta in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore and Flower Maiden in Wagner’s Parsifal.  Faryl performed in Il Barbiere di Siviglia as an Opera Holland Park Young Artist and at Waterperry Opera Festival. She also took part in a masterclass with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. This season Faryl covered the role of Bobbie in the world-premiere of The Railway Children by Mark-Anthony Turnage.
