Neil Jones is a professional dancer, choreographer, director, and presenter, widely recognised for his appearances on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. With numerous accolades to his name, including World, European, and British Champion titles, he has made his mark in the competitive dance world.
Born in Germany to British military parents, Jones began dancing at just three years old, studying various styles such as ballet, tap, modern, ballroom, and Latin. Throughout his competitive career, he represented Finland, the Netherlands, and the UK. In 2008, he made a significant appearance at the Blackpool Dance Festival alongside his dance partner Katya Jones. Both of the dancers became 4-time British National Champions and 3-time World Amateur Latin Champions.
Neil is very passionate about raising awareness and speaking about homelessness, which is something he faced at the age of 16. When a homelessness organisation offered him safe accomodation and got him off the streets so he was able to focus on dancing, he has since used those low times to push him to succeed. Two charities Neil loves to support are Shelter and Centrepoint.
Jones first appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016 during its 14th series, and continued to feature in series 17 and 19. He has also taken part in Children in Need and the Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour in 2017. In addition to performing, Jones has directed, choreographed, and starred in numerous dance productions.
