We recently attended the launch of Stephen Sackur’s new book, Hard Truth. For nearly 2 decades, Stephen hosted Hard Talk on BBC News, and in his new book he re-examines the assumptions underpinning the journalism he grew up with. Is it enough to bear witness and move on? What does impartiality mean when the truth itself is drowning in a sea of distraction, distortion and disinformation? Do we need journalists who see themselves as 'activists for truth'?
Hard Truth explores ten dramatic cases where journalists showed astonishing bravery in uncovering the truth, sometimes paying the ultimate price.
Stephen is available to give keynotes on the subject of the book, as well as geo political round ups, helping audiences to understand our ever more fractious, yet interconnected world. He is also a popular conference chair and host.
